The Investigative Committee of Belarus opened a criminal case against 21-year-old Bozhena Acorn, the girl of the head of the “Belarusian House in Ukraine” Vitaly Shishov, who was found hanged on August 3 in a park in Kiev. About it reported on the website of the department.
“According to the investigation, in August 2021, the suspect, being near the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine, called for mass riots, accompanied by violence against the person and armed resistance to representatives of the authorities, that is, to commit actions aimed at causing harm to the national security of Belarus”, – told USK.
The acorn faces imprisonment for up to five years.
On August 3, she participated in a rally in memory of Shishov, which took place near the Belarusian embassy in Kiev, where she stated that a peaceful protest would not help resolve the situation in Belarus.
“I ask you all: stop walking with flowers and posters. We will not solve anything by peaceful protest. Yesterday it happened to Vitalik ㅡ tomorrow it will happen to you. And they don’t care, ”Acorn said.
Vitaly Shishov, who disappeared on the morning of August 2 in Kiev after going out for a run, was found hanged in one of the parks not far from his house.
The experts found injuries on Shishov’s body – abrasions, flayed skin on the nose, as well as small abrasions on the left side of the upper lip. A mobile phone was found near Shishov’s body.
The National Police of Ukraine began criminal proceedings on premeditated murder (Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and will check all versions, including the version of the murder disguised as suicide.
Bozena Acorn is sure that the young man could not commit suicide. According to her, Shishov did not complain that he was being watched, but recently he became more attentive – he noticed which cars were approaching him and who was getting out of them. There were no direct threats to Shishov, but he had a bad feeling about it, Acorn said. A week before his death, he wrote to one of his acquaintances about this premonition and asked, if anything, to look after the girl.
“Belarusian House in Ukraine” is a non-profit public organization that helps Belarusians who suffered from the regime of Alexander Lukashenko and who were forced to leave the country because of the persecution of the authorities to adapt.
