Anton Furgal, the son of the ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, was not allowed to participate in the elections to the State Duma by the decision of the regional electoral commission. About it informs Znak with reference to Anton Furgal himself.

According to him, the election commission invalidated 2,864 signatures. Furgal noted that only 255 signatures were declared invalid “for objective reasons”, the rest – “for far-fetched”.

In total, it was necessary to collect about 15.5 thousand signatures, the son of the ex-governor submitted 16 thousand signatures to the election commission. Thus, the marriage was about 18%, while the rate was 5%.

“We traveled with members of the commission to randomly selected addresses from the lists. Residents provided passports with local registration, SNILS, registration at the place of residence “, – stated Furgal during a meeting of the commission. Also, according to him, the data of the migration service, on which the election commission was based, are outdated by several months.

Anton’s father Sergei Furgal was detained in July last year. According to the investigation, he organized the attempted murder of an entrepreneur and the murder of two more businessmen in 2004-2005. In early February 2021, he was finally charged. The ex-head of the Khabarovsk Territory himself denies guilt and considers the case to be politically motivated.
