Taliban rush to Kabul. Fierce fighting in Afghanistan

The Taliban terrorist movement has imposed fierce fighting on the Afghan government and is rushing to the capital. About it informs Associated Press and local media correspondents.

Fighting between Taliban and government forces broke out in Kandahar. The airport stopped its work, all flights have been canceled at the moment.

The Taliban also captured the capital of another Afghan province, the city of Ghazni, located 130 kilometers southwest of Kabul. The city is strategically important as the Kabul-Kandahar highway passes through it, linking the Afghan capital with the southern provinces.

Afghanistan announced its readiness to buy combat helicopters from Russia. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Hanif Atmar stated on the air of “Echo of Moscow” that the authorities “are waiting for a response from the Russian government.”

In less than a week, 10 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces were under Taliban control. The hostilities affected two thirds of the country’s population. Over the past weekend, a terrorist group greatly expanded your control. Thus, extremists seized three provincial centers: Kunduz, Sari-Pul and Talukan.

The activation of the Taliban in Afghanistan occurred against the backdrop of the withdrawal of the American armed forces from the country. The US contingent began leaving Afghanistan in May 2021.

In the last weeks of the escalation of the conflict, thousands of people have fled their homes. According to the UN, more than a thousand civilians have become victims of armed clashes over the past month.
