The Basmanny Court of Moscow sent under arrest the former chairman of the government of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania Sergei Takoyev and ex-Minister of Tourism of the Republic Alan Diambekov. About it informs Interfax with reference to the press service of the court.

The accused will remain in custody until October 10, 2021. The defense asked for a more lenient measure of restraint, including house arrest, prohibition of certain actions or bail, but it was refused.

A similar preventive measure for the same period was chosen by the court to the former general director of OZATE, Aida Gabaraeva.

All defendants are charged with theft by embezzlement on an especially large scale (part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The detention of Takoyev, Diambekov and Gabaraeva became known on August 10. Searches were carried out in their homes.

According to the investigation, in 2014, Takoev, Diambekov and Gabaraeva, together with other persons, ensured the conclusion of a state contract and the acquisition of real estate objects from the OZATE controlled by them into republican ownership at an inflated cost. The total amount of spent budgetary funds amounted to 180 million rubles, according to the UK.
