The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has withdrawn its earlier consent to the appointment of Julie Fisher as US Ambassador to Minsk. About it reported on the website of the department.
«In recent years, our countries have come a long way in bringing diplomatic relations to a more or less acceptable level, so it is a pity that the impudent and openly hostile actions of the American side, as well as the actions of its individual representatives that do not fall under the notion of diplomacy and professionalism, destroyed the achievements of their predecessors and forced us to revoke the previously issued consent of the Republic of Belarus to the appointment of J. Fischer as the US Ambassador to our country, ”Belarusian Foreign Minister Anatoly Glaz explained this decision.
He also said that the United States has been proposed to reduce the number of employees of its embassy in Minsk to five people by September 1.
This week Washington introduced new restrictions, which also included one of the main Belarusian exporters, Belaruskali.
