The St. Petersburg City Electoral Commission overturned the decision of the territorial commission to refuse to register opposition leader Boris Vishnevsky in the elections to the city’s legislative assembly. This was announced by Vishnevsky himself.
“Friends, the St. Petersburg Election Commission unanimously canceled as illegal the decision of the Territorial Election Commission No. 30 to refuse to register me as a candidate for the Legislative Assembly in the single-mandate constituency No. 2 in the Central District. My complaint has been satisfied, ”Vishnevsky wrote on his Telegram channel.
Previously Boris Vishnevsky, who is running for Yabloko, filmed from the elections because of claims to documents, which he considered untenable. TEC No. 30 of the Tsentralny district of St. Petersburg stated that the documents from the Yabloko conference on Vishnevsky’s nomination were incorrectly drawn up, but at the same time there are no requirements in the legislation for their registration. Previously in the constituency where the candidate is running, Were registered two more self-nominated candidates named Boris Vishnevsky, who changed names just before the start of the campaign.
Boris Vishnevsky is the current deputy of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly from Yabloko.
Earlier from the elections to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg was forced another opposition MP Maksim Reznik, who is under house arrest on a drug case, is filmed. According to Reznik, the investigator twice denied him a visit to a notary, which is needed to register for the elections. He also added that the obstacles created by the representatives of the UK are connected with the desire of the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov to prevent him from participating in the election campaign.
We add that Vishnevsky and Reznik were the only active deputies of the legislative assembly of St. Petersburg who initiated protests in the city.
