Another series of searches of Jehovah’s Witnesses took place in Crimea, after which two of them were arrested. About it informs OVD-Info.

Searches took place on August 5 as part of the case on organizing the activities of an extremist organization. The next day, the believer Alexander Litvinyuk was placed under house arrest. According to the FSB, Litvinyuk “used the software for video conferencing Zoom” “to” attract new members of the organization. ” During the search, security officials seized equipment, personal records and property documents.

On August 10, two more Jehovah’s Witnesses from Armyansk were detained by the court. The names of the believers have not been specified.

Recall that in early August, in Yalta, criminal cases were also opened against local Jehovah’s Witnesses. Believers are also charged under articles on organizing extremist activities. They were assigned house arrest and a recognizance not to leave the place.

The Supreme Court recognized the “Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia” as an extremist organization in April 2017, liquidating it and banning its activities on the territory of Russia. In August, all Jehovah’s Witnesses organizations were put on the banned list. After that, a stream of criminal cases began against representatives of the religious movement.
