The accused in the murder of the “sausage king” and four other prisoners escaped from the Moscow region prison



In Istra near Moscow, five prisoners escaped from a temporary detention center, informs Prosecutor’s Office of the Moscow Region in Telegram. The department started checking.

According to an Interfax source, the escape was made by Alexander Mavridi, Ivan Turcanu, Alexander Butnaru, Denis Grozavu and Nikolai Teterya. According to preliminary data, the fugitives are not armed.

The Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office reported that during the inspection, “the actions of the responsible officials will be assessed.” According to Interfax, one employee of the detention center is being checked for involvement in the incident, he was detained pending clarification of the circumstances.

One of the suspects, Mavridi, was detained November 2 last year. After that, the Investigative Committee reported that a pensioner was found handcuffed to his bed in his house. He told investigators that Moscow apartments were being extorted from him. According to RIA Novosti sources, the victim was a retired lawyer Alexei Zavgorodniy. In relation to Mavridi, cases were opened under articles on the illegal deprivation of freedom and extortion of property.

A few days later, a second murder suspect, Pasha Akhmedov, was arrested.
