In Belarus, the court of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Vitebsk recognized the sports site Tribuna.com, as well as all the social networks of the portal, as extremist. About it informs press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In addition, applications of the sports site designed for smartphones, its mirror and a bot for communicating with the editorial office were also recognized as extremist. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the portal is involved in the dissemination of messages of “extremist orientation”.

Tribuna.com website blocked back in August 2020 – right after the start of protests over falsified presidential election results. The editors of the site covered the events taking place at the rallies and supported the protesters.

Earlier, the website and all social networks of the Belsat TV channel were recognized as extremist in Belarus. The basis for this decision was the materials of the audit of the GUBOPiK department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Gomel region.

The channel’s journalists were constantly harassed and arrested by the security forces. In February 2021, a court in Minsk sentenced Belsat journalists Yekaterina Andreeva and Darya Chultsova to two years in prison for streaming from a protest rally. They were found guilty of organizing and preparing actions that grossly violate public order (part 1 of article 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).

In addition, in June, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus also demanded that the materials of the news portal Tut.by be declared extremist. After that, the journalists of the publication removed some of the materials from social networks and announced the creation of a new media called Zerkalo.io.

Note that last year Belarus recognized the Telegram channel and the Nexta logo as extremist.
