“Legal Protection of the Postcard” deleted all publications in its Telegram channel, renaming it “Empty”. Representatives of the organization did this immediately after the blocking of the site by Roskomnadzor. Later, the project lawyer Anastasia Burakova announced the termination of the organization’s work.
“Something needs to be said in connection with the blocking news. So far, briefly: “Postcard Legal Protection” has ceased its work. Personally, as a lawyer, I am ready to help in word and deed, to talk about new bills and lawsuits, to figure out here with you how to live with all this ”, – explained she’s on her Twitter page.
Today, the publication “Open Media” also announced the termination of work, the website of which was also blocked the day before. Representatives of the editorial staff in their statement stressed that the continuation of work poses great risks for employees.
“We were interested in making news, we were interested in politics and social life, we wanted to gather a large audience and then, perhaps, replace the grant with advertising revenues. We almost succeeded in the first – we were read by millions of people on the website and in social networks, and the second – now is not destined to come true. Unfortunately, the authorities do not need media projects with a critical view of what is happening in the country, the more criticism, the shorter the life of the project. But at least we tried, “- said representatives of the publication.
Later, the editor-in-chief of MBH Media, Veronika Kutsyllo, announced a similar decision.
“I am not ready to jeopardize the freedom and lives of other people. Mikhail Khodorkovsky, too. The project “MBH Media” is closed “, – reported she is on her Facebook page.
Recall that yesterday Roskomnadzor, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, blocked the sites of Open Media, MBH Media and the Legal Protection of the Postcard project. The publications noted that the editorial staff did not receive any notifications about this – from the regulator or the Prosecutor General’s Office.
