Last year The Insider based on data from past years appreciated the annual income of Evgeny Popov is 12.9 million rubles. Commenting on the Dozhd TV channel on the recent FBK investigation, the propagandist stated: “The data of the” Insider “is absolute bullshit.” At that time, Popov’s election declaration, which should reflect his earnings, was still hidden. On August 3, the information submitted about Popov’s income was published in the media: according to the screenshot of the document, in 2020 he earned 11.4 million rubles. Officially by the election commission, the report of candidate Popov is still did not post (after this publication by The Insider, a report appeared), but this data on Twitter verified Popov himself.

It could be assumed that in the year since The Insider’s investigation of the propagandists’ income was published, Evgeny Popov’s salary decreased slightly. However, this is not the case: as we were able to establish, on the contrary, it has grown. And Popov provided incorrect data to the election commission.

The Insider got access to the FIU information on the state of Popov’s individual personal account. They contain the exact amount paid to the propagandist. In total, he received 13.4 million rubles from the Federal State Unitary Enterprise VGTRK and the Rossiya TV channel over the past year.
