Gazprom completely stopped pumping gas into European storage facilities

Gazprom completely stopped pumping gas into underground storage facilities in Europe. This was reported by Interfax, citing data from the Gas Infrastructure Europe portal.

According to the agency, the process of reducing supplies began last Saturday and ended on Monday. So, on the eve, the sum of injection and withdrawal operations from storage capacities in north-west Europe even went a little into negative territory.

Pumping to storage facilities in the Netherlands and Germany was stopped, and withdrawal from the Haidach UGS facility in Austria began. Injection continues at a storage facility in Germany.

In addition, Gazprom has cut gas supplies via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, which runs through Belarus and Poland to Germany. Until last Friday, 84 million cubic meters of fuel were pumped through it, but today the flow has dropped below 50 million cubic meters.

Following the results of August 2, the level of filling of European storage facilities is 57.54%, which is 16.2 percentage points lower than the average for the last five years. In addition to the shortage of gas resources on the market, injection is also limited by the price.

As the agency notes, the gas balance in Europe is now in dire shortage. The task of restoring reserves is complicated by the shortage of liquefied natural gas on the world market. This leads to an increase in fuel prices, on the European market last week they crossed the mark of $ 500 per thousand cubic meters.
