The Polish government issued a humanitarian visa to the athlete from Belarus Kristina Timanovskaya. About it reported Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Marcin Pshidach.

“Belarusian athlete Kristina Timanovskaya is already in direct contact with Polish diplomats in Tokyo. She received a humanitarian visa. Poland will do everything necessary to help her continue her sports career, ”said Przydach.

Earlier, he said that the Foreign Ministry had begun the procedure for applying for Timanovskaya’s humanitarian visa. Pshidach added that Timanovskaya’s application for political asylum will be considered as soon as it is received.

Timanovskaya is now at the Polish Embassy in Tokyo.

Let us remind you that on the eve a recording of a conversation between athlete Kristina Timanovskaya and two members of the Belarusian delegation at the Olympic Games in Tokyo appeared on the Internet. In a conversation with Timanovskaya, sports officials call her act “stupid” and say that because of him “people may be left without work,” so she needs to fly home. The voices of the head coach of the national team Yuri Moisevich and the deputy director of the RCOP Artur Shumak are also heard on the tape. The Sports Solidarity Fund of Belarus demanded that the IOC be disqualified for life.

Earlier, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus dismissed the runner Kristina Timanovskaya from the competition in Tokyo “at the conclusion of the doctors, due to her emotional and psychological state.” The athlete was taken to the Tokyo airport, where she contacted the police, she was taken to a safe place. Timanovskaya criticized Belarusian sports officials. According to her, due to the fact that the Belarusian runners from the relay team 4 x 400 meters did not pass a sufficient number of doping tests, they were not allowed to participate in the Olympic Games. As a result, they decided to put Timanovskaya on this distance, who was going to run distances of 100 and 200 meters.
