Athlete Kristina Timanovskaya, a participant in the competition at the Tokyo Olympics, is being forcibly taken to Belarus, informs in its Telegram channel Belarusian Sports Solidarity Fund.

“Belarusian athlete Kristina Timanovskaya is forcibly taken out of Tokyo. Representatives of the Belarusian national team are deporting the athlete, they urgently bought a plane ticket for her, and now they are taking her things to the airport. Tomorrow she was supposed to start at 200 meters, representatives of the national team do not allow her and send her to Minsk, ”the fund said.

According to Mediazona, Timanovskaya is currently at the airport together with the police and volunteers, awaiting a representative of the Belarusian diaspora in Tokyo.

“While they are deciding what to do. No complaints were made. I was just told to pack my things and fly home. ” explained Timanovskaya “Euroradio”.

The BSSF calls on the IOC and the International Athletics Federation to help Timanovskaya.

How transfers portal Zerkalo.io, Timanovskaya told Euroradio that she is going to apply for political asylum in Europe.

However, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus reported that Timanovskaya was being sent home “due to her emotional and psychological state.”

“According to the doctors, in connection with the emotional and psychological state of the Belarusian athlete Kristina Timanovskaya, the coaching staff of the national athletics team made a decision to stop the athlete’s performance at the Games of the XXXII Olympiad. Consequently, the athlete’s application for participation in the qualifying races of 200 m and in the relay 4 × 400 m has been withdrawn, ”the committee said.

On August 2, Timanovskaya was supposed to start at 200 meters. Earlier, she criticized the leadership of the national team for being announced for the 4×400 meter relay, while the athlete had already been announced at a distance of 100 and 200 meters. After that, Timanovskaya was criticized by all pro-government Telegram channels and state television.
