In a conversation with The Insider, Litvinovich emphasized: “My election campaign will be led by Yulia Galyamina, who was convicted under the Dada article and cannot run. This is her district, in which she was going to go. In many ways, I go for her too. “
Galyamina herself, in a conversation with The Insider, noted: “This whole story <with the arrests of politicians – The Insider> shows what are the strategic advantages of hitting opposition leaders. Of course, on the one hand, this is unpleasant, because they kick out the most popular politicians, but new ones appear. Thus, the political space is expanding. It’s like with mushrooms – the more you cut off the mycelium, the more new ones grow. “
Litvinovich said that she was not afraid of possible pressure: “I have a lot of political experience, long-term. I was twice beaten for politics, I was often threatened, especially when I was investigating the terrorist attack in Beslan. I’m an experienced person, so it’s okay. Now is the time to get involved in politics. ”
In early April, Litvinovich was expelled from the Public Monitoring Commission of Moscow.
This decision was made by the Council of the Public Chamber. The Council of the Public Chamber for Security and Interaction with POCs approved the early termination of Litvinovich’s powers “due to her repeated violation of the Code of Ethics.”
Litvinovich herself told The Insider that she intends to continue to engage in social activities.
“Lawyers tell me that the decision of the Public Chamber can be appealed in court, and I will definitely do it. With a high degree of probability, I will run for the State Duma in order to continue to protect the rights of prisoners and reform the penal system, ”Litvinovich said.
How clarified in the Moscow POC, according to the commission, Litvinovich repeatedly disclosed the investigation data, allowed the dissemination of false information that undermined the credibility of the institution of public observers on the part of the suspects, the accused and their lawyers. The human rights activist herself categorically disagrees with these statements.
