The Israeli authorities were the first in the world to announce the start of a massive revaccination against coronavirus with Pfizer. About it informs Reuters.
The country’s authorities explained the need for revaccination by the spread of the delta strain. According to Reuters, the third dose of the vaccine will be available to people over 60 who completed the two-dose course at least five months ago.
At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) has not yet officially recommended revaccination with a third dose due to the lack of a sufficient number of studies on its effectiveness and safety. According to latest data, in Israel, more than 60% of the population is vaccinated.
Over the past month, due to the spread of the delta strain, the incidence of coronavirus in Israel has increased dramatically. Now, about two thousand new cases of coronavirus are registered in the country every day.
