The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to check the production of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater for possible “insult to veterans.” This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the UK.
“In connection with appeals from members of the public and publications in the media regarding the performances that took place at the Sovremennik theater, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed his subordinates to study and assess the facts given in the publications,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
Earlier, “Officers of Russia” complained to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Moscow Mayor’s Office about the play “First Bread”. They said the production was “overuse of profanity” and “blatant propaganda of same-sex love.” And in the monologue of the heroine of the play, played by the actress Liya Akhedzhakova, according to the “Officers of Russia”, there is an insult to the veterans.
