Taekwondo fighter Vladislav Larin won the gold medal of the Olympic Games in the taekwondo tournament in the weight category over 80 kg, transfers TASS.

This is the second gold medal of Russia in taekwondo at the Tokyo Games. The first was won on July 26 by the Russian Maxim Khramtsov, having won over the athlete Saleh El Sharabati from Jordan.

In the duel, Larin defeated the representative of Macedonia Deyan Georgievsky with a score of 15: 9.

Yesterday the Russian men’s national artistic gymnastics team won the all-around team tournament. Russians Nikita Nagorny, David Belyavsky, Denis Ablyazin and Artur Dalaloyan earned 262,500 points. Silver went to Japan, bronze medals were won by gymnasts from China.

In the unofficial medal standings, Russia is in fourth place. Russian athletes at these Games do not compete under the flag of the country, but under the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee, since the Russian Federation has been barred from participating in the Olympic Games until December 2022 due to manipulation of doping samples by the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory.

According to WADA, the laboratory falsified the results of tests intended for transmission to the World Anti-Doping Agency. The organization claimed that the information had been forged for a year and a half.

In addition, civil servants of the Russian Federation and the leadership of the ROC and the PKR, by the decision of the committee, are prohibited from attending international sports events.

At the same time, Russian athletes who have not been noticed in doping violations are allowed to compete under a neutral flag and without performing the national anthem.
