In St. Petersburg, the 84-year-old wife and 56-year-old son of Admiral Leonid Lobanov were killed. How informs “Fontanka”, citing its own sources, is suspected of the murder of the admiral himself, who was hit to death by a train a week before the discovery of the corpses.

According to the newspaper, on July 24, the daughter of the admiral turned to the St. Petersburg police. She asked one of the officers to come and open the door to her apartment at 8 Butlerova Street, where her mother and brother live, because the neighbors complained of a strong unpleasant smell. When the police opened the apartment, they found the mutilated bodies of the woman and her son there.

The publication writes that both bodies were lying on the couch, with only underwear on them. The dead had their throats cut and their stomachs opened. There was a frying pan nearby. There are traces of blood on the wallpaper.

The police found that nothing was missing from the apartment.

When the police began to look for Lobanov himself, it turned out that on July 16 he was hit to death by an electric train near the Ruchyi railway station. It was not immediately possible to establish his identity, since he had no documents with him. A knife was found in Lobanov’s pocket, according to a Fontanka source.
