In Arkhangelsk, at an exhibition of contemporary art, there was a massive brawl between local residents and artists who came to the event. About it informs local edition 29.ru.

The exhibition of street art “Cowshed” was held on July 24 in an abandoned building on Kegostrov. How it says in the announcement of the exhibition on the VKontakte page, it was dedicated to the “originality of the modern North”.

A verbal conflict broke out between the artists and local residents, which escalated into a brawl at the pier when the last ship sailed from the island.

“Local residents caught up with several people, while most of the people were on the ship. Those who came to the island had pepper sprays with them – they hit several people in the face, some stronger, some weaker. It touched, among other things, people not participating in the conflict, for example, an employee of the ship who was removing the ladder. When the fight began, several people came running to the rescue from the ship. As a result, some of the residents of Kegostrov participating in the conflict were neutralized with pepper spray, some fled, some stayed to continue fighting, ”writes 29.ru.

“One of the participants in the conflict launched a live broadcast of what was happening. The video shows how the runaways left behind a bag of alcohol, which was taken by one of the participants in the fight, but accidentally dropped it into the water when he tried to jump on the sailing ship. The author of the live broadcast ran into the captain’s cockpit and asked not to sail away without the people left on the island. Several people jumped onto the ship that was already leaving. Residents of Kegostrov threw bottles and sticks into the ship, the artists responded in the same way. One of the local residents threw a bat into the sailing ship, ”the newspaper reports.

Several dozen people took part in the scuffle. According to 29.ru, no one was seriously injured in the fight, except for one person who had a bottle smashed on his head. Some of the participants in the conflict received abrasions.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Arkhangelsk region told the publication that they had begun checking. According to police, two people went to the first-aid post.
