A tourist bus got into an accident in the Apsheronsky district of the Krasnodar Territory. As a result of the accident, two people were killed, 19 were injured, informs regional prosecutor’s office. The accident happened near the village of Mezmay. According to the preliminary version of the investigation, the brakes of the bus failed, which is why, at the turn, it drove off the road into a ditch and overturned.

According to preliminary data, there are no minors among the victims. Four people are in serious condition. They were sent to Krasnodar hospitals in reanimation vehicles and an air ambulance helicopter. The rest of the victims are assisted on the spot. Their condition is assessed as moderate.

All the victims and the dead are residents of different areas of the Krasnodar Territory. These are employees of one of the enterprises. They were taken on an excursion from Korenovsk, the administration of the Apsheron region reported. The bus driver, according to preliminary data, transported people privately. Regional Emergency Source explained TASS that the bus was ordered, not a tourist bus. In addition, he was not registered, said the regional headquarters.

“During the inspection, the prosecutor’s office will assess the reasons and conditions of the incident, including the actions of the carrier, for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements,” the supervisory agency said in a press release. According to one of the versions, the vehicle could be released on the line in a faulty condition.

The Investigative Committee also conducts a check on the fact of an accident. The head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to take it under the control of the central apparatus of the RF IC.
