Clashes with police took place in Paris and Lyon, where demonstrations took place on Saturday against the so-called sanitary passes and the mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for people of certain professions. By data French television channel BFM TV, in the capital, firecrackers, bottles and paving stones were thrown at police officers. The security forces used tear gas and threatened protesters with truncheons.
In some streets, protesters erected barricades. They also tried to block the highway, but the police used a water cannon. According to the TV channel, about 900 people took part in a peaceful protest in Paris, and about a hundred people took part in clashes with the police.
Protests against the restrictive measures of the French authorities are taking place in other cities, in particular in Dunkirk, Perpignan, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice. Last Saturday, according to the French Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 114 thousand people took part in similar actions throughout France, about 18 thousand people gathered in Paris.
