President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree introducing sanctions and penalties against the Wildberries company, as well as its founders, Tatiana Bakalchuk and her husband Vladislav. Relevant decree published on the president’s website.
The sanctions provide for the blocking of assets, the prevention of the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, as well as the suspension of the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations. The restrictions will be in effect for three years.
In addition to the founders of Wildberries and the company itself, several other organizations were also included in the list: “Center of the Official Representation of the Donetsk People’s Republic in France”, “Association Representation of the Donetsk People’s Republic in France” and “Association France – Crimea”.
Tatyana Bakalchuk is included in the ranking of the richest women in the world, her fortune is estimated at $ 13.1 billion.
In April 2021, Zelensky imposed sanctions against 79 legal entities from around the world, including several Russian companies. Among them are Rossotrudnichestvo, the Volga-Dnepr aircraft repair company, and the Spetsagregat plant.
In addition to Russian legal entities, the lists include companies from Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
