The opening ceremony kicked off at 14:00 Moscow time at the National Stadium in Tokyo.
The Tokyo Olympics will run from July 23 to August 8, 2021. It was originally supposed to take place in the summer of 2020, but the competition was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
