The Baku court of Azerbaijan sentenced Russian citizen Eduard Dubakov, who fought in Nagorno-Karabakh, to 10 years in prison in a terrorism case (clause 3.1 of article 214 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan), informs “Sputnik Azerbaijan”.

According to the prosecution, Dubakov was attracted by the Armenian authorities to participate in the battles in Karabakh.

According to the indictment, Dubakov first illegally came to the territory of Karabakh, where he participated in military exercises in the territory of the Kelbajar region, and then arrived in Azerbaijan to “commit terrorist and provocative actions.” He was detained during a special operation.

As the agency reports, after serving his sentence, Dubakov is forcibly deported from the country.

Dubakov himself did not admit his guilt.

On July 14, the prosecutor demanded that Dubakov be sentenced to 11 years in prison on charges under articles of terrorism (paragraph 3.1 of article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan), participation in a criminal community (article 218.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and illegal crossing of the state border of Azerbaijan (article 318.2 Of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan).
