The documents do not say what the teachings were about and how they ended. It is noted that they were successful, and it is planned to prepare reporting materials by August 31.
A source in the telecommunications market said that “all operators of the Big Four, as well as Rostelecom, Transtelecom and ER-Telecom Holding, took part in the exercise.
“The purpose of the exercise is to determine the possibility of Runet operation in the event of external distortions, blockages and other threats. The official results have not yet been summed up, the exercises were preliminarily recognized as successful, ”said the interlocutor of RBC.
Another source confirmed to the newspaper that “the possibility of physically disconnecting the Russian part of the Internet was tested.”
The Runet Isolation Law entered into force on November 1, 2019. A number of its provisions, including on the national domain name system, began to operate in 2021. The State Duma approved the law on April 16, the Federation Council on April 22.
