The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sent to a pre-trial detention center until September 16, 18-year-old student Valeria Bashkirova, who on July 16, driving a Mazda, hit three children at a pedestrian crossing. Two of them subsequently died from their injuries. About it informs “New Newspaper”.

The accident happened on Aviatorov Street in the Solntsevo area. Two adults with a stroller and a nine-month-old baby, and children of four and five years old, were crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The main blow fell on children.

Doctors diagnosed a four-year-old boy with a broken leg, a closed head injury and a concussion. A nine-month-old child has a concussion and a closed head injury.

The eldest of the children was taken by helicopter to the hospital, he was in a coma and died the next day. The nine-month-old girl is now in serious condition.

The examination showed that the girl was sober at the wheel, reported in the traffic police. She got her license last year. The girl said that she ran into the children because she was “on the phone” at the wheel, according to Moskovsky Komsomolets. At the time of the collision, the speed of the car reached 40-50 kilometers per hour.

The police opened a criminal case on violation of traffic rules and the operation of vehicles (part 1 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Earlier, Bashkirova was placed under house arrest, but soon the prosecutor’s office demanded to tighten the preventive measure for the accused.

At the moment, the accusation was re-qualified: a criminal case was opened against the girl under Part 5 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic rules, resulting in the death of two or more persons).
