The film “Titan” by French director Julia Ducorno won the Palme d’Or, the main award of the 74th Cannes Film Festival. Winners Announcement Ceremony passes on Saturday at the Palais des Festivals.
The Grand Prix of the festival received two works: the Iranian film “Hero” directed by Asgar Farhadi and the film “Coupe number six” by the Finnish director Juho Kuosmanen. The Finnish director’s film was shot with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
The award for Best Director went to French director Leos Carax for Annette.
The award for Best Actor went to Caleb Landry Jones for his role in Nitram by Australian director Justin Kurzel. The Best Actress Award went to Renate Reinswe for his work in the film “The Worst Man in the World” by the Norwegian director Joakim Trier.
The Best Screenplay award went to the Japanese film “Get behind the wheel of my car,” directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, who filmed the story by Haruki Murakami.
The jury award was given to two films – “Ahed’s Knee” by Israeli director Nadav Lapid and “Memory” by Thai director Apichatpong Virasetakul.
The honorary Palme d’Or went to the Italian actor and director Marco Bellocchio.
Russia in the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival was represented by the work of Kirill Serebrennikov “The Petrovs in the Flu”.
The 74th International Cannes Film Festival was held from 6 to 17 July.
