A head-on collision of two freight trains took place in the Amur Region, according to the Far Eastern Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, transfers Interfax.
The accident occurred 51 km from the Verkhniy Ulak station of the Ulak-Elga section of the railway. As a result, two members of the locomotive brigade were injured, two more were killed.
A criminal case was initiated on violation of transport safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons (part 3 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Investigators conduct an inspection of the scene.
