The Ministry of Justice of Russia included in the register of foreign agents the NGO “Institute of Law and Public Policy”, informs press service of the department. The reasons for inclusion in the register are not specified.

The board of trustees of the institute includes, in particular, lawyers Henry Reznik and Konstantin Dobrynin, as well as retired judge of the Constitutional Court Tatiana Morshchakova.

This is a team of lawyers that is engaged in conducting public litigation, research and publishing activities.

In particular, the organization’s lawyers advise citizens and represent their interests in the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and the European Court of Human Rights and UN human rights mechanisms.

Tatyana Morshchakova, in an interview with The Insider, noted that the institute will now simply cease to exist, what happened is a provocation, but did not elaborate on the details.

“I can only say that it was a provocation. A specific person wrote a false denunciation and presented facts that never happened. They asked from the institute that the Ministry of Justice would answer where all this came from, why they do not check these facts, why they do not do an unscheduled check. What should I do? This means that the institution simply ceases to exist. He can live this way. ”

The Institute dates back to 1993, when the Center for Constitutional Studies in Eastern and Central Europe was established. Seven years later, it was transformed into an independent organization – the Institute of Law and Public Policy.
