The Moscow City Court released the municipal deputy Ketevan Kharaidze from the pre-trial detention center under house arrest. About this lawyer Mikhail Biryukov wrote в Facebook.
Petitions in support of Ketevan and almost 60 bail bonds were attached to the case, as well as a certificate that she has an apartment where she can serve house arrest.
The founder of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky came to court and statedthat he is ready to pay 1 million rubles as bail for the release of the Mundep from the pre-trial detention center.
Ketevan Kharaidze was arrested for 2 months on June 19, 2021 – a month after she announced her intention to run for the State Duma. She was charged with fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code). The second suspect in the case, Muram Grigoryan, was placed under house arrest.
According to the investigation, the deputy obstructed the commissioning of an elite residential complex in the Tverskoy district and thereby deprived citizens of the right to housing. According to Kharaidze herself, the building was built with significant violations, and she tried to ensure that these violations were corrected.
While in the pre-trial detention center, Kharaidze handed over a letter stating that she was not given water for a long time, despite the abnormal heat in Moscow. She went on a hunger strike to protest her arrest, later the lawyer said that Kharaidze had stopped her.
