After the beating, Lashkarava was treated in a hospital for several days. Later he was discharged from the medical facility, as he was recovering.
More than 50 journalists in Tbilisi on July 5 suffered from the attack of opponents of the LGBT community, who opposed the March of Dignity. LGBTQ + representatives wanted to march along the central Rustaveli Avenue, but a few hours before the rally, representatives of the ultra-right, church parishioners and radical homophobes began attacking journalists and opposition representatives. Several people were hospitalized with serious injuries, including head injuries. Homophobes also attacked bystanders, including teenagers.
