Died operator of Georgian TV channel, who was beaten by opponents of LGBT people

In Tbilisi, the cameraman of TV Pirveli, Alexander Lashkarava, died after being beaten by opponents of the LGBT community on July 5. how informs TASS, this is stated in the statement of the TV channel.

Lashkarava was found by his mother in his own apartment. The cause of death is unknown. Forensic experts work on site.

After the beating, Lashkarava was treated in a hospital for several days. Later he was discharged from the medical facility, as he was recovering.

More than 50 journalists in Tbilisi on July 5 suffered from the attack of opponents of the LGBT community, who opposed the March of Dignity. LGBTQ + representatives wanted to march along the central Rustaveli Avenue, but a few hours before the rally, representatives of the ultra-right, church parishioners and radical homophobes began attacking journalists and opposition representatives. Several people were hospitalized with serious injuries, including head injuries. Homophobes also attacked bystanders, including teenagers.
