Russia extradited Azerbaijani citizen suspected of attempted murder to Germany

Russia extradited Azerbaijani citizen Elshad Azizov to Germany, suspected of attempted murder, informs Interfax.

According to the investigation, in 2016 Azizov detonated a hand grenade near the entrance to the entertainment center, where people were at that time. According to preliminary data, the attack took place in the course of interethnic clashes.

Azizov, also known as Yelshad Gulammirzaev, was handed over to the German police at the Domodedovo airport. Azizov was on the international wanted list for several years at the request of the police commissariat of the city of Saarbrücken.

Also, according to the representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk, in 2018 Azizov was detained on suspicion of committing two robberies.

“For committing these crimes, the Moscow District Court of the city of Nizhny Novgorod sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime colony. After serving the sentence, it was decided to transfer the defendant to the German side, ”Volk explained.
