Expert of the Radioactive Waste Safety Program of the Russian Social and Ecological Union, engineer-physicist Andrey Ozharovsky complained about the persecution by unknown people. About this he told Open Media.

According to Ozharovsky, a couple of weeks ago an unknown person approached his daughter on the street and began to ask questions about where her father lives.

Later, a woman in civilian clothes and three men in uniform and with truncheons came to the engineer’s place of registration and asked his elderly father about where Ozharovsky lived. At the same time, they did not introduce themselves and did not tell which department they belong to.

Ozharovsky also said that his wife, who works as a teacher, was asked about him. She was summoned to her superiors, asked questions about her husband, and then they took her phone to see photos of the ecologist from business trips.

Ozharovsky sent an appeal to the police asking them to explain to him the representatives of which departments came to his father and what the visit was connected with.

The ecologist noted that he is not hiding, but at the same time he did not receive any official summons from the police, and therefore does not exclude that this is an attempt to put pressure on him related to protests against the construction of the South-East Expressway near the site of radioactive waste of the Moscow Polymetals Plant.

Andrey Ozharovsky is an independent ecologist. He finds radiation anomalies and areas of radioactive contamination. The expert has repeatedly openly criticized the activities of Rosatom.

He also performed at the headquarters of Alexei Navalny with a lecture on the dangers of storing “uranium tailings” in the Urals.
